John Thorton

John Thornton was born in Arbroath, on the east coast of Scotland. After finishing his education he joined the British Royal Navy. He was a Commander and remained in the Navy for 27 years. In 1990, he was recruited by the Australian Submarine Corporation and move to Adelaide.

John decided to become part of 5EBI's Scottish Radio program in the early 2000s. As a member of the Scottish Radio Committee, he holds the joint positions of Vice Chair and Secretary and presents the Scottish Hour program once a month.

John was elected as a member of the 5EBI Executive in 2023.
