What does 5EBI mean for you?
Not everybody here in South Australia was born here. We bring people from all over the world. We broadcast in 50 different languages. We’re a recognition of the actual life of Adelaide as opposed to anybody else’s idea of what Adelaide is.
Why is there a need to celebrate diversity?
It’s fun. We can have 15 different New Year’s Eves in Adelaide if you’ve got a good multicultural calendar in front of you. You just get relaxed about the fact that not everybody you see in the street looks like you, comes from where you came from, speaks the same language as you do, and that makes life so much easier. Reality is a wonderful thing — more people should embrace it.
