Fundraising

Fundraising plays a vital role in generating much needed revenue into 5EBI each year. Our fundraising events are not only designed to raise money for the station, but also to bring together our member groups, volunteers and listeners in a friendly social atmosphere.

Traditional fundraising events throughout the year include our ‘let's dance’ where some 150 members, volunteers, listeners and staff dance the afternoon away to the sounds of one of Adelaide’s big bands. Held each year on the last Sunday in April at the Croatian Club, the afternoon is filled with dancing, eating, raffle prizes and entertainment.

The first Sunday in September sees member groups, listeners and volunteers come together for the station’s annual Quiz Afternoon. This highly competitive afternoon is filled with fun, laughter, raffles and prizes. The station’s resident Quiz Master, Ewart Shaw asks all the hard questions with all tables vying for the top honour .

The last week in October sees the station hold its Annual Radiothon, culminating in an open day on the Sunday. During Radiothon week all member groups are encouraged to seek donations from their listeners. The Annual Radiothon is the station’s largest fundraiser for the year. The open day sees members and listeners come together for a goumet bbq, entertainment and raffles.
